![]() Solar power is the most abundant resource of energy in the world and is the source of almost all energy man relies on today. Since prehistoric times, the sun’s rays have grown plants through photosynthesis. Those plants eventually died and their prehistoric plant matter became peat, or organic matting. After millions of years, organic matter turns to coal, oil, or natural gas which are the fossil fuels used today to power our world. Wind energy also comes from the sun. The sun heats the earth and the temperature differential induces air flow. Wind turbines are then used to capture energy from this wind. |
The sun also contributes to hydro energy. Solar induced temperature changes in the ocean are a major contributing factor to hydraulic flow. Water turbines capture the energy generated from the hydraulic flow.

behind photovoltaic cells was developed in 1954. Most photovoltaic cells today are made of silicon, one of the most abundant elements
on the planet and produced from sand. This tried and true technology,
made of common material, has become a reliable source of renewable
electric power today.
Solar has the highest potential energy capture compared to any other renewable. Wind, Biofuel, Hydroelectric, Ocean Currents, and Geothermal have a potential energy capture of 2 to 12 trillion watts each. Solar has the potential energy capture of 600 trillion watts on the surface of the earth. That is why solar power is expected to be the next revolution in modern energy solutions throughout the world. Akari Energy helps you join the Solar Revolution by capturing the sun’s energy for your own home or business. Click here to learn more about the Benefits and what Purchasing options you may have.

How is a solar energy system designed for your location?
Akari Energy designs and installs a solar energy system that takes full advantage of the sun’s rays.|
The first step in estimating and designing an Akari SolarPower System is to determine the available sun at your site. Using location information, published scientific information, and our design-engineered methods, we are able to model the anticipated solar reception for your home or business.
We also have proprietary methods of gathering critical data such as the type of roof, slope angle, orientation, shading, and other factors. This data is used by our engineering team to design the most efficient solar system capable of maximizing your solar power system's productivity. Due to the site specific performance of any solar power system, our expertly engineered Akari SolarPower System delivers the most green energy to your home or business. Main Components
The main components of an Akari SolarPower System include the solar panels used to capture sunlight, the inverter which converts DC electricity into AC electricity that can be used by the home or building and the rack, or pole mount used to hold the solar panels. |
![]() Outback Charge Controller Grid-Tied System The system is grid-tied where solar power is used primarily to power the home and automatically switches to the grid at night, or when there is not enough electricity being generated from the solar panels to offset consumption. In some states, a grid-tied arrangement is available known as "net metering." This is where excess electricity produced will slow or roll your meter backwards.
Grid-Tied System with Battery Backup This system is the same as a Grid-Tied System, except that there is a battery bank to provide backup power in case the utility line is disconnected. This also works with net metering available in some areas. |
| Monocrystalline Silicon | Polycrystalline Silicon | Thin Film |
|
Monocrystalline Silicon cells are more efficient than polycrystalline, however, the process of producing cell wafers from a single silicon crystal is more expensive than other methods. This process produces a cylindrical ingot which has to be cut down into wafers and further cut into squares. It also involves more cost and silicon material waste.
|
Although polycrystalline silicon cells are less efficient than monocrystalline, the economic benefit makes up for the slight power loss. Polycrystalline ingots are less expensive to produce and are already rectangular in shape, so they can be cut directly into square wafers.

Thin Film technology is based on solar absorbing materials on a thin flexible substrate. This leads to a lighter cell that can be easily integrated into building materials. Due to the fact that fewer manufacturers are available using this technology, supply is not as plentiful and pricing is not as widely competitive as polycrystalline.

Quality makes the Akari Energy difference.
Akari Energy uses quality materials and tightly controls the installation process.|
We primarily install solar panels manufactured by Kyocera Solar, however, we can also offer modules from other brands including GE, Mitsubishi, Evergreen, and Yingli.
We only use the best quality equipment for the balance of the system, for example Sunny Boy or Xantrex inverters, UniRac mounts and so on. We offer many different product brands of solar system components from around the world. |
Akari Energy upholds the highest quality standards throughout the design and installation process. Our engineering staff ensures the most efficient solar energy system by monitoring and supervising our qualified technicians from beginning to end. All electrical work will be subcontracted and performed by our partner licensed electrical contractors ready to keep you powered.
